John Stalder

Miamisburg City Councilman, Miami Valley Fire District Board of Trustees President

Shortly after joining Miamisburg City Council in 2006, John Stalder became its appointed representative in the fire/EMS collaboration study with Miami Township when it was launched.  He maintained his role in that process when the subsequent Interim Fire Commission was formed.  His ongoing commitment and experience with this important local issue were recognized when he was elected to become the first president of the Miami Valley Fire District Board of Trustees when it was created in 2011.

Now serving in his second term on Council, Mr. Stalder has an extensive background in public service.  In addition to the Fire District Board, he has represented Council on several other local and regional committees.  Prior to becoming an elected official, he was a member of the Miamisburg Planning Commission for nearly 20 years, including 14 years as chairman.  In that role, he was heavily involved in the planned residential and commercial growth of the community.

Mr. Stalder is a Miamisburg native and the retired owner of a successful plumbing contracting business.  He is a former board member of the Dayton-area Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors organization.  He and his wife, Susan, have two children and two grandchildren.
