Tax Levy – MVFD Background

In 2006, the City of Miamisburg and Miami Township form steering committee to study joint fire and EMS service provision. The Steering Committee membership included elected officials, administrative staff, the Fire Chiefs, union representatives, business representatives and residents.

The Steering Committee’s objectives:

  • Maintain or improve service levels.
  • Meet current standards of performance.
  • Establish cooperative systems, programs or operations to meet the future service demand.
  • Control or reduce costs.

Creation of the Miami Valley Fire District

August 31, 2011: Miamisburg City Council and Miami Township Trustees hold a joint meeting to create the Miami Valley Fire District.

We are focused on customer service and meeting the needs of our citizens. Our mission is to protect life, property and serve the citizens of our fire district to the fullest. To the best of our efforts, we will meet our mission.
