Tax Levy – MVFD Background
In 2006, the City of Miamisburg and Miami Township form steering committee to study joint fire and EMS service provision. The Steering Committee membership included elected officials, administrative staff, the Fire Chiefs, union representatives, business representatives and residents.
The Steering Committee’s objectives:
- Maintain or improve service levels.
- Meet current standards of performance.
- Establish cooperative systems, programs or operations to meet the future service demand.
- Control or reduce costs.

August 31, 2011: Miamisburg City Council and Miami Township Trustees hold a joint meeting to create the Miami Valley Fire District.
