The Miami Valley Fire District provides Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the residents of the City of Miamisburg and Miami Township.

Miami Valley Fire District currently seeks reimbursement from private health insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid for ambulance transportation. We DO NOT require residents of Miami Township or the City of Miamisburg to pay for uncovered expenses beyond what their insurance company does not cover.
Billing insurance carriers for ambulance services helps in the recovery of cost of services. We use monies received as reimbursement for medical services to re-stock medical supplies and maintain emergency vehicles. Miami Valley Fire District does not bill residents within our response area for expenses not covered by insurance. Residents may receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) (click link for an example of an EOB) from their insurance providers, which is not a bill. Non-residents receiving transport; however, do receive a bill for any services not covered by health insurance.
If more information is needed from a Resident or Non-resident to properly bill the right entity, a Request for Information (RFI) (click link for an example of an RFI) may be mailed to the patient (or patient’s representative). Miami Valley Fire District asks that if you receive an RFI, that you please follow the instructions and send the additional information so the proper billing procedures can be followed.
